Those of us who keep our eyes open and look around the domestic heavy metal scene, will not fall from the clouds with the new album of Triumpher.
On the contrary, after their amazing debut album “Storming the Walls” in 2023, it seemed that this, had started and could only go upwards.
The new album of Greek heavy/power metallers Triumpher “Spirit Invictus”, presents a strong, epic style that highlights the technical and compositional evolution of the band.
With dominant references to historical and mythological themes, the album is inspired by all this and creates a sense of epic that is inextricably linked to the dynamic sonic aesthetics of heavy metal.
The influences from classic epic/power metal bands such as Manowar are evident but do not characterize “Spirit Invictus”.
From the opening “Arrival of the Avenger” the album impresses with power combined with melody.
The compositions are well crafted and very mature to an extent that satisfies all listeners of a genre where the truth is saturated.
Triumpher perform the compositions with excellent executive ability, which characterizes them as musicians individually.
All in all, “Spirit Invictus” is a step forward for the Triumphers, which I believe will lift them up and open the horizon for new challenges.
