Longtime Artillery drummer Josua Madsen has died at the age of 45. Madsen was unfortunately hit by a bus on the road between Copenhagen and Roskilde.
Madsen played with Artillery between 2012 and 2023 and had left the band recently. Madsen is said to have been returning home from rehearsing with his new band when he was fatally struck. We wish Madsen’s friends and family the best at this time.
Artillery have commented on Madsen’s death:
“Dear friends, fans and family,” the band wrote. “Today we woke up to the tragic news of the death of our dear friend and teammate Josua.
“Dear Josua, for the last ten years, you have been part of our big family. We played, fought, laughed and cried together and looked to the future while appreciating our present. You had a kind spirit and a big heart.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with your son and family. We wish you peace and joy on your journey. Take care and rock, my friend, wherever you are.”
