The day we had all been waiting for had arrived the Envy Mini Tour 2023 was just around the corner at the Temple of Athens. One the weather with its wild moods and one the message from the “Civil Protection” about extreme weather phenomena wanted to spoil our plans, of course we were not intimidated at all, we talk about Metal live, we do not stick anywhere.
Upon arrival, we learned the sad news that ALCHEMISTS will not be able to perform due to a very unpleasant event. Plenty of people outside, classic conversations and conversations about the weather, about today’s Live and the upcoming ones.
Around 21:00 Prog Metal/Hard Rockers SEBIA took the stage and after dedicating the Live to their “brothers” ALCEMISTS and even the singer Leonidas Perifanis wore a T-shirt with their logo on it, to honor them and with the energy high, a real party began. They presented tracks from their new album “Acceptance of Reality” released on June 9, 2023, which also excite you in a live performance. All members talented, Nikos Gavalas (Bass/vocals), Konstantinos Kyritsis (Lead Guitar), Pavlos Kounalakis (Drums), in complete harmony.A special impression was made by the guest appearance of guitarist Panos Antonopoulos (Magenda, Deep Dive) who with just 3 weeks of rehearsal successfully released the setlist, a true virtuoso. An explosive performance by SEBIA that certainly impressed the most demanding as a whole.

After a break to set up, the stage was set up and with great anticipation the moment we had been waiting for arrived.Somewhere at 22:00 Fortress Under Siege took the stage to shake things up. Performing songs other than the amazing fresh album “ENVY” that was recently released, they presented us tracks from previous years albums such as “Atlantis”, Phoenix Rising, The Mortal Flesh of Love even from their first EP album of 1996, Fortress Under Siege with the song “a legacy of stone”. Musicians talented in complete harmony, giving 100% honoring the people who came to enjoy them. Loud drums, full of soul by Dimitris Kapoukakis, although if I am not mistaken in an instant a cymbal turned upside down, did not fall at all, played backwards!! Dynamic player! Tasos Lazaris a constant value that drove us crazy in vocals, loved, quite expressive and communicative with the audience as always. Stefanos Kopanakis, a talented bass player, present everywhere. Excellent choice of Fotis, Themis Gourlis in live performances effectively gives this extra guitar with mastery that is needed in demanding pieces. The Giorgos Georgiou on the keys filled the space with melodies, creating an excellent atmosphere. And finally, the soul of the band, Fotis Sotiropoulos with their incredible solo and compositional skills, proved, once again in live, his greatness. It’s nice to see musicians giving 100% because apart from notes, music is a feeling, I think both bands gave people a part of themselves and I think people realized that last night.
