- Hi and welcome! How did you choose your band name? How long has your band been together?

– The Euthymia project was born in 2022: the band is composed by Vito Tambasco (singer), Edoardo Di Vietri (guitar), Matteo De Marco (guitar, backing vocals and synthesizers), Michael Veneri (guitar), Lhello Marra (bass) and Denis Citera (drums). It all started on the Rock Castle stage in the Czech Republic where we played under the name of Men in The box, our old project.
Euthymia’s name represent, in relationship with the intimacy and with the world around them, the perpetual and dynamic connection with an inner and outer universe that changes incessantly with the human being, tending towards the unity of essence and knowledge.
- What genre of music would you say your band falls under? How would you describe your musical style?
– Our style changes with us, so there are various sides of the coin that need to be analyzed: Currently we tend to write songs with progressive / Doom metrics.
- Who are some of your musical influences?
– If I had to mention the main groups, I would say Tool first, Black Sabbath and Porcupine Tree.
- Do you have any albums out? If yes, what are they called and where can they be found? If no, when do you plan to release one?
– Our first album is in the pipeline, but it will arrive with its right timing: we would like it to be like a dinner at a luxury restaurant, or rather with several courses to let the various singles be tasted with the love they deserve.
- How do you go about writing songs? Is it a collaborative effort or does one person usually take the lead?
– Generally, our music is born from Edoardo’s riffs and production, it is then explored by Vito who embroiders the lyrics on us through introspective research.
- What are the themes and topics that you typically sing about?
– Our lyrics and music derive from intrinsic research of the human psyche and self-awareness. Each song is consequently a sort of inner monologue with still unknown parts of Ourselves.
- Can you tell me a little bit about each member of the band and their role within the group? In our band everyone’s roles are well defined and equally necessary:
– Vito writes the lyrics and manages the entire managerial part of the band, Edoardo is the lead guitar and takes care of the writing and finishing of the pieces while also being a music producer, Lhello is the ardent heart of the group given his old experience in the various European tours experienced as former Postvorta bassist, Matteo helps us as a wild multi-instrumentalist and Michael creates all the dynamics in the songs by being the most energetic on stage.
- Do you have any upcoming shows or tours?
– Currently, we are at the end of our Paranoia Tales Tour, but we have left the best part for the end: Alterova Festival awaits us in the Czech Republic, where we will open the concert for bands like Space Of Variations and Guano Apes.
- How would you go about energizing a tired audience?
– It would be enough to raise the gain and play our My Cyrenaic Cloak: it would wake up even the dead.
- Do you have any funny or interesting stories from being on the road that you can share with us?
– Uhmmm… The funniest story dates to the Rock Castle Festival, in Rep. Czech, where the woods around the stage swallowed up our guitarist for a few hours and he was found in an apparent state of confusion after spending the evening in the company of a pink-haired singer and a group of Gypsis. Poetic.
- Are there any other projects you’re working on that we should know about?
– Our first album is currently in the works, but it won’t be released before the end of 2024. The product requires great attention, and we would like to pour all our love for music into it, so the timing will be longer than normal. We are planning to take out an EP that will be on our Spotify page around February and March.
- What’s next for the band? Thank you for the interview!
– The future is bright! We’ve always faced everything as a family and now that we’re on the right path, our music is coming together like our group. Our current aim is to consolidate our relationship with European stages perhaps by adding as many dates as possible to the 2024 tour and expand our borders to Luxembourg, Belgium, Greece, and Romania. Our dream remains America, where wishes become gold and where our music could be appreciated more.
