AUGUST BURNS RED

DEATH BELOW

The progressive extreme metal scene has been flourishing for many years and it is a shame for a friend, of the music we love, not to have dealt with even the big bands of the genre.
Our music is one! and whichever branch we choose we will end up at the same tree and root.
Let’s finally take off the blinders and listen to music and finally choose what we like.

All this in general, but also to get to the main topic with this metalcore band from Pennsylvania, USA.
Well established in the metalcore scene, with ten albums in their twenty year career, August Burns Red have nothing to prove, which is evident by how they use their every asset.
The compositions, the alternation of rhythms, the vocals.

“Death Below” is a diverse album, with stormy rhythms, but also mid-tempo passages, blast beats and guitars that sometimes scream and sometimes hurt.
The melodiousness of the compositions and the progressive techniques make the whole album very interesting, especially if one tries to unlock all the emotions it offers.

I really liked “Premonition” which opens the album, with the lyrics talking about the anxieties we all experience and where this world is going. Lyrically, the whole of “Death Below” moves somewhere in there.

The album is under the auspices of SharpTone Records and is the first with this company.
Produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland.
The track “Ancestry” features Jesse Leach from Killswitch Engage on vocals!
“Tightrope” features Jason Richardson of All That Remains!
” The Abyss features JT Cavey.
Finally “Reckoning” features Underoath’s Spencer Chamberlain.
August Burns Red say it all and play it all on “Death Below” and it’s a shame not to get a taste.
